


The meeting is an opportunity for the community to review and ask questions about the updated plan. This year the Campus Master Plan—the university’s vision for future development—will undergo its first update since the 2003 unveiling. The presentation will also be available to the public for download on the TU website (www.towson.edu) after the June 15th meeting.

The County has signed a lease with the pool commitee. The lease slated to be reviewed and maybe approved by the Baltimore County Council on June 3rd. More information to come soon.
On Monday, January 12, the YMCA held an informal meeting with a number of residents whose homes immediately surround the Y to discuss the plans for re-development of the Towson YMCA.

These sandwich-style, weather-proof signs will be placed in various locations throughout the neighborhood prior to an event and will direct residents to the website for additional information. Flyers will no longer be distributed.
Southland Hills President will send monthly updates via email to all residents who have provided an e-mail address. This e-mail will inform neighbors of any new information, minutes of the last board meeting, upcoming events, etc., by directing residents to various links on the website.
A paper copy of the newsletter will no longer be distributed after the March/April 2009 issue, unless someone wishes to take over the duties of creating, editing, copying and distributing hard copies.
This is the group that has formed to deal with the county's unwillingness to appropriately deal with the overcrowding that is occurring in our schools. Due to their efforts, the West Towson elementary school will be built and open by Fall 2010.

The recent removal of several dead tress in the mini-park has left it looking bare. The County will replace some of them, however, a few more trees would certainly make for a more inviting common space. Anyone wishing to make a donation towards a new tree should contact Amy Welling. Or if you have not paid your dues, you may add extra to be put towards the tree fund.
